Chancellor Designs was founded as a home staging firm in 2007 and we’ve been building a reputation for creativity and collaboration ever since. Today, we are ushering in new era, using our deep bench of experience to bring fresh, thoughtful design to home and business owners in the Pacific Northwest. Helmed by Ruth Chancellor, Chancellor Designs is a team of nine dedicated designers, stagers and support staff.

When clients think of us, they think of a team driven by the desire to deliver spaces that change the way they feel about their home or business. We are so confident we can deliver, we offer a Happiness Guarantee. If, after a year, you don’t love your space, we will do what it takes to make it right. Because at Chancellor, happy clients are our crowning achievement.

RUTH CHANCELLOR

Since 2007, Ruth has been at the helm of Chancellor Designs, one of the Portland-metro region’s most recognized and respected staging companies. During this time, Chancellor Designs helped builders, developers and homeowners sell thousands of homes. Ruth attributes the company’s success to her love of interior design, her experience as a business analyst, her interest in real estate and to “just being nice.” Ruth recently made a strategic decision that the firm become equally known for its residential and commercial interior design services. Ruth and her husband Randy enjoy urban living having recently moved to Portland’s Pearl District. For fun, Ruth loves travel, drinking good wine and practicing the plié for her beginner adult ballet classes.

KRISTEN SIEFKIN

Kristen has a long history of verbal and visual storytelling beginning with her work with the Pacific Northwest hospitality icon, McMenamins. There she learned about creative strategy, visual branding, historic preservation and the importance of infusing a little whimsy into everything she does. Later, as vice president of a bi-coastal agency, Kristen designed hundreds of successful creative campaigns for major international consumer brands. Kristen specializes in commercial and hospitality projects and firmly believes that good design drives business. Her work has been featured in Oregon Home Magazine, 1895 Magazine, Apartment Therapy and more. She is obsessed with animal prints, travel, abstract art and her two Havanese dogs, Zane and Ollie.

MARTHA DANE

Martha is an interior designer, a historian and an artist. This trifecta helps her identify the appropriate style for a design and select dynamic pieces that highlight the existing architectural elements of a space. Martha sees her purpose as a designer to create spaces that allow clients to build meaningful connections in their life. Relationship building is at the core of Martha’s design process. Her focus is on full-service residential design and home remodels and she is also branching into commercial design. On the weekends, Martha can be found thrifting for home décor or fixing up the 1950s ranch she and her husband purchased in 2017.

TIA MORTON

After learning all about color, composition and texture as a floral designer, Tia decided to bring it all together in her position at Chancellor’s staging department. In addition to floral and interior design, Tia has been a farmer on Orcas Island, Washington and worked for celebrated chef Alice Waters. She loves disco balls, R&B music and her cat Bill.

KATIE ANDERSEN

Styling and making spaces come to life fuels Katie. She believes the spaces we surround ourselves with have a profound effect on how we feel and and experience our lives. Protecting the environment and animal welfare are central issues in Katie’s life, so she does everything she can to create amazing spaces with that in mind. She is a master pillow chopper, shelfie styling wizard, vintage lover, thrift store shopper and self-described cat lady.

KAYCE WHEELER BYRNE

Kayce is a rare mix of creative and analytical, making her the perfect client services project manager. Her background in design and marketing, combined with her passion for client services and project management, allows her to advocate for both the creative team and the client. Kayce enjoys working with a team that is dedicated to producing great work and getting things done. For her, building rapport with clients and having fun along the way is the icing on the cake. When she’s not icing the cake, she’s running, doing yoga, entertaining, or wrangling cats and boys (her two sons and one husband).

DERREK BECKER

As design services coordinator, Derrek helps the design team manage the details so that each project moves smoothly from one stage to the next. But don’t let his analytical skills fool you; Derrek holds a BA and MA in interior design so he approaches each project with the eye of a designer and is able to speak the same language as our vendors. Derrek and his partner live in a 303 sq ft Tiny House on Wheels on a seven-acre farm with goats, chickens, cows, and ducks.

NICK CHANCELLOR

A Portland native, Nick is Chancellor’s muscle. He and his team do the heavy lifting for dozens of staging and design installations each week. Nick loves country music, dogs, Taco Bell and river floats. If you ever see him wearing anything but shorts, he will give you a twenty dollar bill.

TIM FLANNERY

As the tallest member of the staging team, Tim is often recruited to hang artwork and place accessories on high shelves. A few of his favorite things include: cooking, watching comedies, going hiking and snowboarding, attending hip hop shows, and spending time with his daughters.
